Teacher Education
University of Maine at Farmington of has a long history of excellence in the preparation of teachers. Beginning as a normal school in 1864 to train teachers, UMF has since grown to include many other fields, while maintaining it’s commitment to preparing teachers. Currently over one third of the student body is enrolled in a program leading to teacher certification.
University of Maine at Farmington is accredited by the state of Maine and the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE).
At UMF we have a number of different programs that help students to become certified teachers. Here is a little information about each program to help you learn more about each program
